Khattak vows to wipe out Imran, PTI in polls

Pervez Khattak, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians, has declared that he will become the next chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and has pledged to destroy Imran Khan and the PTI in the next general elections.

Speaking at a Sunday election rally in this city, the former leader of the Pakistani Transformation Alliance (PTI) claimed that 240 million Pakistanis were now aware of the catchy catchphrases of Imran, Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, and Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and that the country understood the truth behind their hollow promises.

He further said, “They (political leaders) enter the field to achieve their objectives like a monkey trainer puts up a show and when they come to power with the votes of the nation, their views change.”

“Imran’s mindset was that of Europe and America, as he was unaware of the concerns of the poor people of the province,” Khattak added, asserting that if Imran’s government had been founded, it was because of him. He further claimed that, after they parted ways, neither Imran nor his government survived.

It was Khattak who declared, “Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will be taken on the journey of progress with the votes of the people,” referring to the province’s peoples’ decision to vote just for the turban emblem.

“They only commit to plundering after being elected,” he remarked, criticising the religious institutions for sending representatives to the assemblies who invariably forgot about the impoverished after they arrived.

Khattak, who was going after the JUI-F chief, questioned how Maulana Fazl amassed such wealth, saying, “This is the robbery.”

The PTIP chairman claimed to have the backing of 25 to 30 independent candidates and stated that over 70 candidates had been fielded in K-P.
