KARACHI: Pakistan on Tuesday released 235 Afghan migrants including women and children from Hyderabad’s Central Prison, Women Prison and Juvenile Prison, whom they had accused of entering without valid travel documents.

The 235 released Afghan nationals include 16 men, 60 women and 6 children, who were then transported to Afghanistan in vehicles via Chaman border.

The Sindh police in November last have arrested 235 Afghan migrants in multiple raids carried out in limits of four police stations, including Nooriabad, Loonikot, Kotri and Jamshoro, of Jamshoro district.

Earlier, Pakistan had released 150 Afghans from Karachi Central Jail who had been arrested for lacking legal stay documents in the port city.

According to sources, the court had ordered to deport all the Afghans and hand them over to the Afghan authorities at the border of Afghanistan.
