Viral Video of Islamabad Cashier’s Remarks on Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa Sparks Debate

A video recently went viral showing a cashier from Crusteez, a popular eatery in Islamabad’s Blue Area, making derogatory remarks towards Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The video, which quickly spread across social media platforms, depicts the cashier refusing service to the Chief Justice while using a word that, although not explicitly vulgar, carried a negative connotation akin to a curse or condemnation.

The incident occurred while Chief Justice Faez Isa was visiting the establishment with his family, sparking mixed reactions online.

Public Reaction to the Viral Video

Following the release of the video, social media users had polarized views. Some praised the cashier for standing up against a high-ranking official, viewing it as an expression of free speech and dissent against what they consider a controversial figure. Others, however, condemned the behavior, calling it inappropriate and disrespectful, especially toward someone in a position of national importance.

    Authorities Seal the Bakery

The situation took a more serious turn when authorities sealed Crusteez Donuts, citing health violations. According to reports, the establishment was temporarily closed but has since reopened. The closure of the bakery has fueled further debate on whether the decision was related to the cashier’s remarks or was purely based on health concerns.

Crusteez issued a public apology over remarks on CJP Isa.

Critics argue that the swift action to seal the establishment represents an overreach of authority, raising concerns about the balance between respecting public figures and the right to express dissent.

    Free Speech vs. Public Decorum

The viral incident has reignited a national debate on free speech, especially when it comes to publicly confronting high-ranking officials like Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. While some believe that public figures should be open to criticism, others emphasize the importance of maintaining public decorum and respect in any discourse involving national leaders.
