A vibrant sports gala was held at the “Umeed Special Education School” in Peshawar, a school dedicated to special children and supported by the Pakistan Army. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 90 children from Peshawar and Nowshera, who took part in sports competitions, including cricket, badminton, and tug-of-war.
The children’s enthusiasm and active participation in the games were truly commendable. Corps Commander Peshawar Corps, Lieutenant General Umar Ahmed Bukhari, honored the occasion as the chief guest, expressing his admiration for the children’s performance and noting that their energy and abilities shone brightly, regardless of physical challenges.

Currently, 180 children are enrolled in Umeed Special Education School, which boasts an experienced and trained staff dedicated to providing high-quality education. The school offers a wide range of facilities tailored to the needs of its students, including air-conditioned classrooms, a library, indoor and outdoor sports grounds, a physiotherapy room, hearing aids, a medical room, and psychological counseling. The students also benefit from national and international courses to help them keep up with modern advancements.
To mark the end of the event, gifts were distributed among the participating children, celebrating their achievements and resilience in a heartwarming conclusion to the festivities.
