A senior political deputy within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has issued a strong warning to the United States, stating that any future attack on Iran would trigger the deployment of what he described as “new cards,” in apparent response to remarks made by US President Donald Trump.
According to Iran’s state-linked Fars News Agency, Mohammad Akbarzadeh made the statement during an address at a cemetery in Minab, where he directly referenced Trump’s claim that the United States holds “all the cards.”
Akbarzadeh warned that if Washington makes what he called another “miscalculation” and launches an attack on the Islamic Republic, the IRGC Navy would respond with advanced capabilities, including “smart targeting” systems. He further claimed that Iranian forces could target and disable major US naval assets in the region.
He also stated that Iran would activate additional “instruments of power” across various resistance fronts in response to any act of American aggression.
The remarks come amid heightened rhetoric between Tehran and Washington, reflecting ongoing tensions over regional security and Iran’s military and nuclear posture.
