Balochistan CM Bugti Praises Security Forces for Foiling August 14 Att@ck

Quetta, August 18, 2025 — Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has commended security forces and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for successfully thwarting a planned self-blast on Independence Day. The foiled attempt, he said, prevented large-scale devastation during national celebrations.

    Planned Att@ck Prevented

Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, Bugti revealed that att@ckers had planned to strike on August 14, targeting citizens gathered to mark Independence Day. Thanks to the timely action of law enforcement agencies, the plan was disrupted before execution.

The chief minister confirmed that the same group involved in the November 2024 Quetta Railway Station bl8st was behind the recent plot. Ongoing investigations are expected to expose more links and propaganda networks connected to the group.

    Call for Vigilance

Bugti urged parents and communities to remain alert and protect young people from being misled by extremist elements. He stressed that while society would not face collective punishment, those targeting innocent citizens would be dealt with firmly.

“Our security forces have saved Balochistan from tragedy,” Bugti said, underlining the government’s resolve to continue the fight against banned outfits and their networks.
