    COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir Strengthens Defence Ties During Official Visit to Jordan

    Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), is on an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where he met His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present during the meeting.

    Focus on Defence Cooperation and Regional Stability

    During the meeting, both dignitaries discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in defence and secu-rity and exchanging views on regional peace and stability. Field Marshal Munir conveyed warm greetings from the people, government, and Armed Forces of Pakistan to His Majesty.

    King Abdullah II appreciated the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly their role in promoting regional peace and stability. He expressed his desire to further strengthen defence collaboration between the two brotherly nations, reflecting mutual respect and long-standing friendship.

    Meeting with Jordan’s Military Leadership

    Earlier, Field Marshal Munir also called on Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), at the General Headquarters in Amman. Upon his arrival, he was warmly received and presented with a Guard of Honour.

    Both leaders reaffirmed the deep-rooted historical ties between the Armed Forces of Pakistan and Jordan, emphasizing continued cooperation in training, counter-terr0rism, and regional secu-rity initiatives. Major General Al-Huneiti lauded Pakistan’s consistent efforts for global peace and its Armed Forces’ professionalism.

    Shared Commitment to Peace and Partnership

    The visit underscores the growing momentum in Pakistan-Jordan relations, driven by shared values of brotherhood, mutual trust, and a collective vision for regional harmony. Both sides reaffirmed their intent to enhance military-to-military engagements and foster cooperation across various defence domains to strengthen peace and stability in the region.
