RAWALPINDI: In a tragic incident, Major Mian Abdullah Shah embraced martyrdom while leading a clearance operation in the Shakhas area of Khyber district. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday.

The operation was conducted by security forces who acted upon credible intelligence that indicated the presence of terrorists in the vicinity of Shakhas. With the aim of preventing the escape of the militants, the security forces strategically established blocking positions. Major Abdullah Shah, a courageous 33-year-old officer from Kohat, was at the forefront of the operation and spotted a group of militants.

A fierce firefight ensued as Major Abdullah Shah fearlessly engaged with the militants. Tragically, he lost his life during the intense combat, making the ultimate sacrifice for his country.

The operation proved to be successful as three terrorists and their facilitators were apprehended. Currently, the area is undergoing a thorough cleansing process to ensure the complete eradication of any remaining terrorist presence.

The ISPR reiterated that the security forces of Pakistan remain steadfast in their commitment to combat terrorism. The brave soldiers, such as Major Mian Abdullah Shah, who lay down their lives in the line of duty, serve as a powerful testament to the unwavering determination of the nation in this crucial mission.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of Major Mian Abdullah Shah, Naib Subedar Sahib khan, Naik Muhammad Ibrahim and Sepoy Jehangir Khan were offered at their native respective towns i.e : Kohat, Mianwali, Dera Ismail Khan and Mardan respectively, today.
