Pakistan, Egypt to Strengthen Defence Ties for Regional Peace: Field Marshal Munir
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that deeper cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt will not only strengthen bilateral relations but also promote regional peace and stability.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the field marshal made these remarks during his official visit to Egypt, aimed at enhancing military and defence collaboration between the two countries.
During his meetings with Egyptian Minister of Defence General Abdul Maged Saqar and Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa Fatehi, discussions focused on regional secu-rity, mutual interests, and avenues for stronger cooperation.
Field Marshal Munir was presented with a Guard of Honour at the Ministry of Defence and later visited the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier. He also met Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed El Tayeb, emphasizing the need to counter extremist ideologies and promote unity within the Muslim world.
