LAKKI MARWAT: Police repulsed overnight terrorists attack on a police station in Lakki Marwat district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
According to details, terrorists attempted to attack Bakhmal Police Station in Lakki Marwat late on Sunday night. However, timely response by the police foiled terrorist attempt and they were eventually forced to withdraw. No casualty was reported in the incident.
A large number of local residents have taken up arms to help police officials. They also raised slogans in favour of the police force.
Speaking on the occasion, locals say that it was an attack on them not on police station. They warned the terrorists don’t make a mistake by coming back to their land.
Earlier on Saturday, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police had successfully repulsed overnight terrorist attack on Gomal Police Station in Tank district without the loss of any lives.
Earlier on February 7, police backed by security forces had killed at least 12 terrorists in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Shahbaz Khel area of Lakki Marwat.
Police sources said that the terrorists belonged to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Azhar-ud-Din group which was involved in a December 2022 terrorist attack in which six police officials were martyred.
Police sources informed that hand grenades and large quantity of arms have been recovered from the dead terrorists.
