TANK: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police on Sunday said that they had successfully repulsed overnight terrorist attack on a police station in Tank district without the loss of any lives.
According to police, a group of terrorists attacked the Gomal Police Station in Tank and gunfire was exchanged for almost 15 minutes. However, the police repulsed the attack and the terrorists were eventually forced to withdraw.
The police later conducted a search operation in the area as well.
Meanwhile, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Peshawar claimed to have arrested three terrorists when they were moving from Lakki Marwat to Peshawar to hit important targets. The arrested terrorists, identified as Umar Zaman, Saleem Khan and Ahmed Nabi, are thought to be involved in multiple terror-related activities.
In North Waziristan, eight people were injured when unknown people attacked the house of an Assistant Sub-inspector Ameenullah. The attack happened in Danday Syedge area and the injured were shifted to Waziristan.
