Tribal conflict in Kurram has left at least 36 people dead and 162 injured. The clashes erupted between two tribal groups over a piece of land in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district. Officials provided this information on Sunday. The fierce fighting started five days ago in the Boshera village of Upper Kurram district. This village has previously experienced deadly clashes between tribes, religious groups, and terrorist attacks.

Police reported that 36 people were killed, and 162 others were injured in the tribal conflict over the last five days in Kurram district, which borders Afghanistan. With the help of tribal elders, military leaders, police, and the district administration, officials recently brokered a settlement between Shia and Sunni tribes in the Boshera, Malikel, and Dandar areas. However, firing continues in some other parts of the district. An official stated that efforts are ongoing to maintain a ceasefire in the remaining areas as well.

The tribal conflict in Kurram highlights the ongoing issues in this region. The involvement of military leadership and police shows the severity of the situation. The efforts to broker peace demonstrate the complexity of the tribal and religious tensions. Despite the settlement in some areas, the continuous firing indicates that the conflict is far from over.

Residents in Kurram are caught in the middle of this violent tribal conflict. The death toll and injuries reflect the brutal nature of these clashes. The efforts to maintain peace are crucial for the safety of the people living in this region. The tribal conflict in Kurram needs urgent attention to prevent further loss of life and ensure lasting peace.
