In a recent press conference held in Kabul, Abdul Matin Qani, the spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), made significant statements pertaining to the situation in Afghanistan. Qani dismissed the existence of insurgent groups, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, within the country’s borders. Moreover, he highlighted the Islamic Emirate’s desire to foster positive relations with the international community, emphasizing their commitment to national and Islamic interests.

Addressing concerns about the presence of Daesh in Afghanistan, Qani firmly denied its existence and reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s policy of maintaining cordial relations with neighboring countries and the world, including the United States. However, these relations are subject to the nation’s interests and the principles of Islam. He further emphasized the Islamic Emirate’s pledge to the international community, assuring that Afghan soil would not be exploited for any acts of terrorism or aggression against other nations.

Qani also provided an update on the recent visits of the acting Minister of Interior, Sirajuddin Haqqani, to the northern provinces. This information sheds light on the government’s efforts to strengthen stability and security in those regions.

Regarding the relocation of Waziristani refugees within Afghanistan, Qani acknowledged the ongoing negotiations with the International Organization for Migration. These discussions aim to address concerns related to the migration issue effectively. By collaborating with Pakistan and international organizations, the Ministry of Interior seeks to find viable solutions and alleviate any apprehensions surrounding this matter.

It is worth noting that multiple countries have expressed their worries about the presence of terrorist groups within Afghanistan. The statements made by Abdul Matin Qani serve to provide insights from the Ministry of Interior, assuring the international community of the Afghan government’s commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining harmonious relationships.
