Fresh signs of diplomatic movement have emerged as a potential second round of talks between the United States and Iran could take place within the next few days. According to sources in Islamabad, ongoing mediation efforts are showing progress, raising hopes for renewed engagement between the two sides.

Officials familiar with the process indicated that discussions could resume within a 36 to 72-hour window, suggesting that behind-the-scenes diplomacy is gaining traction. These developments follow active facilitation efforts by Pakistan, which has been working to bridge gaps between Washington and Tehran.

Responding to reports of a possible breakthrough, US President Donald Trump signalled cautious optimism, stating that renewed talks were “possible,” indicating that Washington remains open to continued dialogue.

The update comes shortly after Trump announced an extension of the current ceasefire with Iran, allowing time for Tehran’s leadership to present a unified proposal. The pause in hostilities is being viewed as a critical opportunity to shift from confrontation to negotiation.

While uncertainties remain, the latest signals suggest that diplomatic channels are still active, with mediation efforts continuing to play a key role in preventing further escalation and keeping the prospect of a negotiated outcome alive.
