Pakistan & Afghan T@liban to Hold Second Round of Talks in Istanbul Tomorrow
Pakistan announced that the second round of talks between Islamabad and the Afghan Taliban will be held in Istanbul, Türkiye, on Saturday, as a follow-up to the Doha dialogue that achieved a temporary ceasefire last week.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said that all points discussed in Doha will shape the Istanbul agenda. He added that both sides are entering the new round with the same sincerity and commitment shown previously. Since the Doha dialogue, no major cross-border att@ck has been reported, which the spokesperson called a “positive outcome.”
Andrabi confirmed that a written understanding was reached in Doha, regardless of formal recognition by the Afghan side. He emphasized Pakistan’s firm stance that cross-border incidents must stop and urged verifiable action against armed groups operating from Afghan soil.
He further stated that Pakistan values citizens’ safety over trade flow and remains ready to respond to any regional aggression while monitoring ongoing tensions in other conflict zones.
