The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities have officially declared the new date for the re-conduct of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in the province. The MDCAT test is set to take place once again on November 26, offering a fresh chance for aspiring medical students to prove their mettle.

This paper-based test is conducted in the country and internationally by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) each year for individuals aspiring to pursue undergraduate medical and dental education in Pakistan.

The authorities will collaborate with a coalition of law enforcement and intelligence agencies. That includes the police, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Intelligence Bureau.

This rigorous approach underlines the commitment of the authorities to maintain the highest standards of fairness and merit in the admission process. A staggering 46,658 candidates have registered to participate in the upcoming MDCAT test.

The decision comes after a meticulous review of the Bluetooth scandal, which had marred the credibility of the initial test. To ensure the utmost transparency and integrity of the reorganized MDCAT, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned.

The MDCAT tests were held in the K-P on September 11. However, the tests were marred by the use of unfair means. During the test, the examination staff seized more than 40 students for allegedly trying to cheat using Bluetooth devices. In view of the scandal, the caretaker provincial cabinet on September 29 also decided to re-conduct the test within six weeks.

The provincial government decided to take action against all individuals that were involved in cheating. This includes the candidates, their facilitators and the mafia, which allegedly minted millions of rupees.

Notices were sent to all the accused involved in the scandal before initiating their probes. In response, the registration of 219 candidates was canceled.
