The Caretaker Minister of Information and Public Relations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, announced a comprehensive strategy to address the issue of illegal foreign residents within the province.

In a press conference held at the Home Department in Peshawar, Minister Kakakhel highlighted the government’s commitment to managing this situation effectively.

Under this plan, the KP Provincial Government is committed to facilitating the voluntary departure of illegal foreigners. Those who willingly leave Pakistan will receive facilitation and easy access to the border.

Simultaneously, individuals who do not depart voluntarily will be relocated to designated processing zones and subsequently deported.

Over 82,000 illegal residents have already voluntarily left the country, with an impressive figure of 11,000 individuals returning to their respective nations just yesterday. Additionally, 52,000 illegal residents have been identified and mapped in various districts across the province.

The authorities in the province have begun relocating undocumented Afghan refugees to the designated “processing zones”.

A central control room had been established at the home department to oversee the significant operation. This will be carried out with the help of integrated procedures to monitor and coordinate efforts.

The control room served as a crucial liaison among provinces, districts, and government departments.  The control room is established to ensure the repatriation of illegal residents in an orderly manner.

The repatriation of illegal migrants would be conducted in three phases. The undocumented foreigners will be temporarily kept in designated processing zones, from where they will be deported to their respective countries.

The federal government has begun a “single-document” policy, welcoming those entering Pakistan on passports and visas only.,

The caretaker information minister, Barrister Firoze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, said that the caretaker government is committed to ensuring the safety of public life and property in the province. The government has taken strict measures to foster a peaceful environment and economic stability in the province.

He said efforts were made to check smuggling, control extortion, the use of illegal SIM cards, and profiteering. All of them yielded positive results, contributing to the enhanced economic stability of the country.
