Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir conducted a significant visit to Awaran district in Balochistan. He received comprehensive briefings on the current security situation and the Pakistan Army’s efforts toward socio-economic development and agricultural facilities in the region.

During his visit, General Munir interacted with local elders, farmers, and the families of martyrs, offering reassurance of the army’s unwavering commitment to their security and well-being. He also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the martyrs, recognizing their invaluable contributions.

In his engagements with the community leaders and agriculturalists of Awaran, Gen Munir stressed the pivotal role of agriculture. He reiterated the army’s dedication to the Green Pakistan Initiative. He pledged substantial support to farmers, including access to agricultural resources such as easy loans, seeds, fertilizers, solar tube wells, and expert guidance. This assistance aims to empower local farmers to cultivate their lands and actively contribute to the progress and development of Pakistan as partners.

Subsequently, the army chief inaugurated Cadet College Awaran, emphasizing the army’s commitment to education and skill development in Balochistan. He also interacted with faculty members and students. He commended the establishment of another cadet college in the province for the locals. General Munir affirmed the Pakistan Army’s ongoing collaboration with civil departments to facilitate development and relief efforts in Balochistan.

Highlighting the significance of Balochistan’s prosperity for the nation, the COAS stated, “The success of Balochistan is the success of Pakistan. The people of Pakistan are proud of the brave people of Balochistan who have stood tall against all odds. The armed forces of Pakistan as well as law enforcement agencies will continue to provide their services in support of the people of Balochistan for peace and prosperity in the province.”

Upon his arrival, General Munir was welcomed by the Balochistan Corps Commander.
