KHYBER: In a tragic Khyber incident, three people, including two cops, embraced martyrdom in a firing attack near Landi Kotal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The police spokesperson said that the Khyber incident occurred near Charwazgai post where unknown assailants opened fire on police.

The firing resulted in the killing of two cops, Alamzeb and Sher Alam. A passerby also died, and two others sustained injuries. Earlier, a firing exchange between the Railway Police and porters at Mardan Railway Station led to the martyrdom of two police constables and injured one.

Four porters were also injured in this exchange of fire. Several others were arrested. According to police, the incident stemmed from a dispute over the lease at the railway station. Railway authorities had sealed the mall the previous day, causing tensions between the groups.

In another Khyber incident, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ijaz Khan was martyred. Three other officials, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), were injured during an encounter with terrorists in Mardan’s Zada Mata area. The encounter involved a fierce exchange of fire between law enforcement and terrorists.

SP Ijaz Khan fell victim to the terrorists’ indiscriminate firing. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) spokesman confirmed this Khyber incident, praising the bravery of the martyred SP.
