Police Raid PTM Camp in Peshawar Leads to Arrests

Peshawar – In a decisive move, local authorities raided a PTM camp in Peshawar’s Regi area late last night, resulting in multiple arrests. The police acted following a government directive that banned the gathering due to its potential for inciting unrest. The raid was conducted after the Khyber District Administration enforced Section 144, prohibiting public assemblies.

Section 144 Enforced in Khyber District

In response to rising concerns over unrest, the Deputy Commissioner of Khyber imposed Section 144 across the district. The notification came shortly after reports of the Pashtun National Assembly being held by PTM in the region. Authorities cited security threats as a major reason behind this legal action, stating that the gathering posed risks to peace and stability.

    PTM Members Detained During Raid

During the raid, police arrested multiple members of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM). According to officials, the camp set up for the assembly was quickly dismantled, and all associated materials were confiscated. Law enforcement made it clear that further participation or financial support for the banned organization will result in legal action.

    Chief Secretary’s Warning

A notification issued by the Chief Secretary of KP instructed government and non-government employees not to participate in the banned assembly. This follows a broader crackdown on organizations that are deemed threats to national security. Police emphasized that those found assisting in organizing or funding PTM activities would face legal repercussions.
