Saim Ayub’s Explosive Century and Abrar Ahmed’s Stunning Debut Seal Victory

In a dominant display, Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the second ODI, leveling the three-match series. Saim Ayub’s scintillating maiden century and Abrar Ahmed’s dream debut performance with the ball were the highlights of the day.

    A Record-Breaking Chase

Chasing a modest target of 146, Pakistan raced to victory in just 26.2 overs with 190 balls to spare. Saim Ayub was unstoppable, smashing an unbeaten 113 off just 62 balls, including 20 boundaries and three sixes. His knock marked the third-fastest century by a Pakistani in ODIs, behind only Shahid Afridi. Abdullah Shafique provided steady support with 32 not out.

    Zimbabwe’s Batting Struggles

Earlier, Zimbabwe struggled to build momentum, being bowled out for just 145 in 32.5 overs. Their innings began poorly, losing openers Tadiwanashe Marumani (4) and Joylord Gumbie (5) cheaply. Captain Craig Ervine (21) and Dion Myers (33) briefly stabilized the innings with a 38-run partnership.

However, Abrar Ahmed’s superb debut spell (4/33) and Salman Ali Agha’s effective bowling (3/34) dismantled the middle order. Sean Williams’ 31 was the only other notable contribution as Zimbabwe failed to recover.

    Pakistan’s Bowlers Shine

Abrar Ahmed was the star, claiming four wickets in his maiden ODI outing, while Salman Ali Agha complemented him with three. Faisal Akram (1/17) and Saim Ayub (1/28) chipped in to wrap up the Zimbabwean innings.

    Decider Awaits

With the series tied 1-1, the final ODI, scheduled for Thursday at the same venue, promises an exciting contest as both teams vie for the series win.
