Recent statements by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, have caused a lot of concern. According to reliable sources, Gandapur has said things that sound like he wants to separate KP from Pakistan and talk with extremist groups like the Taliban.

These kinds of words are dangerous because they hurt the unity of the country. A leader’s job is to work for the peace and progress of the nation, not to say things that create more problems.

But Gandapur’s words are not the only problem. For years, the KP government has struggled to fix important issues like education, healthcare, and security. Even though the same party has been in power for over a decade, life in KP has not improved the way it should have.

KP still has one of the lowest literacy rates in Pakistan. Many schools do not even have basic things like clean water, electricity, or proper classrooms. Promises to improve education have mostly been talk, with very little actual progress. Without good schools and education, young people in KP will continue to struggle and miss out on a better future.

Hospitals in KP are overcrowded and poorly managed. Many people cannot get the care they need because there aren’t enough doctors, nurses, or medicine. Programs like the Sehat Card were meant to help, but they have failed to fix the deeper problems. In rural areas, getting medical treatment is still very difficult, and many people have no choice but to suffer without help.

The condition of roads, bridges, and other basic facilities in KP is terrible. Projects to improve roads, provide clean water, and build power plants have either been delayed or abandoned. When floods hit the province recently, the government failed to provide enough support to the people who needed it. Even with a lot of money being spent, the situation has not improved much.

The security situation in KP is another big problem. Instead of standing up against extremist groups, Gandapur’s words make it sound like he wants to negotiate with them. This is a dangerous idea because it can encourage these groups and weaken the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s security forces. KP has always been on the frontlines of fighting terrorism, and it cannot afford a government that does not take security seriously.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent statements show that he is out of touch with the real struggles of the people in KP. Instead of working to fix education, healthcare, and infrastructure, he is using political drama to distract from his failures. By talking about separating KP from Pakistan, he is creating fear and uncertainty, which can harm the entire country.

The problems in KP are not new, but they are getting worse under poor leadership. The PTI-led government has had many chances to improve the lives of people in KP, but they have failed again and again. Leaders like Gandapur should be held accountable for their words and actions.

The federal government needs to take these issues seriously and make sure that such dangerous statements are not ignored. Pakistan’s unity must come first. The people of KP also need to demand better leadership—leaders who care about building schools, hospitals, and safe communities, not those who use words that divide the country.

KP is a province full of resources and hardworking people. It deserves a government that works to make it better, not one that creates more problems. It is time for change—a change that puts progress, peace, and the future of Pakistan above everything else.
