    Relief Arrives from Beijing

Two relief flights from the People’s Republic of China landed at Nur Khan Air Base, Rawalpindi, carrying 300 tents and 9,000 blankets to support families affected by the recent floods. The supplies will bolster Pakistan’s monsoon relief operations, coordinated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

    Ceremony Highlights

The reception ceremony was attended by Federal Minister Amir Muqam, NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NDMA. Minister Muqam expressed heartfelt gratitude to China, stating that the timely aid will ease the hardships of thousands of displaced families.

    Strengthening Bonds

Speaking at the event, the minister emphasized that China’s assistance reflects not only humanitarian concern but also the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China partnership, often described as higher than the Himalayas and stronger than steel. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to mobilize resources, with NDMA leading the way, to ensure swift recovery and rehabilitation in flood-affected areas with support from friendly nations.
