COAS Vows Action Against Indian Proxies, Reaffirms Pakistan’s Resolve in Balochistan

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir has said that Pakistan is taking decisive action against India-backed proxies and anti-state networks operating in Balochistan. He reaffirmed that any violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty would be met with a firm and resolute response.

Addressing participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Tuesday, Field Marshal Munir said that groups supported by external forces, identified as Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij, were working to destabilize the province and hinder its development.

He emphasized that all necessary measures were being taken to eliminate these networks and ensure peace across the region. The army chief reiterated the military’s commitment to safeguarding national stability and protecting the lives of citizens.

Balochistan: The True Strength of Pakistan

Field Marshal Munir described Balochistan as the pride of Pakistan, rich with vibrant, resilient, and patriotic people. He said the province’s true wealth lies in its citizens, whose loyalty and perseverance define Pakistan’s national unity.

He highlighted the federal and provincial governments’ joint initiatives for socio-economic uplift, including infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and employment generation. According to him, sustainable growth depends on strengthening the province’s human capital and addressing social disparities.

Empowering Youth and Strengthening Civil Society

The COAS appreciated the constructive role of civil society, particularly in mobilizing and empowering young people to contribute to progress. He said youth participation was essential in defeating divisive narratives and promoting harmony in the province.

He stressed that collaborative civil-military efforts were key to addressing local challenges, building trust, and ensuring long-term peace. The army chief urged participants to remain focused on unity and development rather than divisive agendas.

Pakistan’s Stance on Regional Peace and Integrity

Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, Field Marshal Munir warned that any direct or indirect violation of territorial integrity would provoke an immediate and decisive response. He said the armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the nation’s borders and ensure internal stability.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants discussed issues related to development, security, and governance in Balochistan.

According to the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa account for more than 96% of total violence-related incidents across the country, underlining the region’s security challenges.

During his previous visit to Balochistan, Field Marshal Munir also emphasized the importance of joint civil-military collaboration to address public concerns and promote sustainable peace and development.
