RAWALPINDI: A heated argument broke out between Barrister Gohar, Chairman of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI), and Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, regarding the reported death toll of party workers during the D-Chowk protest.

The verbal clash occurred during a hearing at Adiala Jail, where Barrister Salman Akram Raja was also present.

Aleema Khan challenged Barrister Gohar over his claim that 12 PTI workers had died during the protest, asserting that the actual number was much higher. She questioned why Gohar was underreporting the fatalities.

Barrister Gohar defended his statement, emphasizing the importance of relying on verified information. “Based on the available details, 12 people have died. How can we claim a larger number without verification?” he argued.

Aleema Khan remained persistent, questioning his knowledge of the situation. “Do you even know how many people are missing? Have you visited the families of the deceased?” she asked pointedly.

In response, Barrister Gohar stated that teams had been formed to ascertain the actual numbers and reiterated the need for accuracy. Salman Akram Raja supported Gohar’s stance, advising Aleema Khan not to categorize jailed individuals appearing in court as “missing.”

Arrest Warrants Issued for Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana Case

In a separate development, the accountability court issued arrest warrants on Thursday for Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana Case 2 due to her continued absence from court proceedings.

Bushra Bibi and former Prime Minister Imran Khan are accused of selling state-owned gifts worth over 140 million rupees during Khan’s tenure. The court is pursuing the case to hold them accountable for these allegations.
