Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, reiterated his commitment to bolstering Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Speaking to reporters in Peshawar after offering condolences for the late Ghulam Sabir, father of Principal Information Officer Mubashir Hassan, Tarar emphasized the need for the KP government to take decisive action amid recent security challenges, particularly in the southern districts.
Tarar acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and security forces in maintaining peace. He recalled past government initiatives such as Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, aimed at eradicating terrorism from the country.
Addressing a recent terrorist attack in Bannu that claimed the lives of eight security personnel, Minister Tarar noted the presence of troublemakers during the ‘aman’ march in Bannu, who targeted the security perimeter of Bannu Cantt. When questioned about the incident, he asserted that the nation is aware of elements disrupting peace marches for political motives.
Minister Tarar concluded by reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to supporting KP’s efforts in combating terrorism and ensuring security across the province, particularly in light of recent incidents.
