KP Government Enforces Strict Ban on PTM Activities Following Federal Orders
Peshawar – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a strict enforcement of the federal ban on Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) activities. This comes after the federal government declared PTM a proscribed organization, citing the group’s involvement in anti-state activities. Provincial authorities are now actively preventing any PTM gatherings, including their planned meetings in Khyber District.
Federal Notification and PTM Ban
Following a federal notification that officially banned PTM, the KP government is ensuring that no PTM activities can take place. KP Information Adviser, Barrister Saif, emphasized that PTM’s involvement in anti-state activities necessitated the ban. Authorities are now preventing PTM’s planned October 11-13 rally, which was set to take place in Khyber District.

Implementation of Section 144
The Deputy Commissioner of Khyber District issued a notice imposing Section 144, banning all large public gatherings in the region. This measure aims to prevent PTM’s illegal activities, such as the planned “Pashtun National Court.” The legal move aims to maintain peace and order in the region during these tense times.
Law Enforcement and Government Response
The Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reinforced the government’s position by issuing a warning to individuals, both public and private sector employees, regarding their involvement with PTM. Those who attend or support PTM activities will face legal repercussions. Following the directive, police dismantled PTM’s event setup in Khyber District and arrested several members.
