The spokesperson of the KP chapter of the PML-N, Ikhtiar Wali Khan, rejected the election results of the KP. He alleged that if Ali Amin Gandapur becomes the Chief Minister, the province will become Afghanistan’s Tora Bora.

It should be noted that Tora Bora is associated with the battle that took place on December 3–17, 2001, when a U.S.-led coalition attacked the cave complex in the White Mountains. Khan further accused the PTI founder of adopting an anti-state agenda by appointing Gandapur as the Chief Minister. He stated that the PML-N rejected the election results in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

    Appointment of Gandapur

The PTI has nominated Ali Amin Gandapur as the candidate for Chief Minister of KP. Gandapur is a former federal minister and a member of the national and provincial assemblies. He was elected in the general elections of 2024. Earlier, the PTI approached the PTI-P to form a government in KPK.

During an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, PTI founder Imran Khan confirmed Gandapur’s nomination. He stated that there would be no negotiations with PML-N, PPP, or MQM.

    Who is Ali Amin Gandpur?

Gandapur has previously served as the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan from 2018, to 2022.

He was also a member of the KP assembly from 2013 to 2018. He held the position of Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Revenue.

    Police in Action Again

In a new move, the Lahore police have started apprehending all the candidates who won in the recent general elections. Courts declared them proclaimed offenders in the violence cases that occurred on May 9.

The police, in collaboration with officials from the joint investigation team (JIT), have developed a strategy to capture several important individuals, such as Mian Aslam Iqbal, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Imtiaz Sheikh, who were successful candidates in the elections. The authorities want these individuals for their involvement in the violent incidents that took place on May 9, 2023.
