Pakistan’s Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has unveiled the Shahpar-III, a cutting-edge fighter drone described as a “game changer” in modern warfare. Developed by Global Industrial Defense Solutions (GIDS), the third-generation unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is capable of flying at altitudes of 35,000 feet while carrying up to 500 kilograms of heavy weaponry, including bombs, cruise missiles, and torpedoes.
The unveiling took place at the International Defense Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 in Karachi, Pakistan’s premier defense expo running from November 19-22. The event showcases over 550 exhibitors, including 340 international defense companies, and is attended by more than 350 senior officials from 55 countries.
Shahpar-III demonstrates Pakistan’s technological advancement in defense, boosting its capabilities on the battlefield. The innovation reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening its defense industry and global partnerships.
