Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the second Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh next week, where he will affirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestine.

The summit, initiated by Saudi Arabia, will address rising tensions in the Middle East amidst intensified Israeli operations in Gaza and Lebanon and growing hostilities between Iran and Israel.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch announced that the summit will build on the November 11 gathering focusing on Gaza.

Sharif aims to push for an immediate ceasefire and cessation of Israeli actions, while advocating for international protection for Palestinians and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On the sidelines, Sharif is expected to hold bilateral meetings with leaders from the Arab League and OIC, further reinforcing Pakistan-Saudi ties following recent agreements worth $2.8 billion.
