ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during a meeting on Friday, highlighted the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and called upon the public to contribute generously to the relief fund established earlier this month.
“We will not abandon the Muslims of Palestine, Gaza, and Lebanon in their time of need,” said PM Shehbaz, emphasizing solidarity with those suffering from Zionist oppression. He urged citizens to donate to the “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon” to support the defenseless Palestinians and Lebanese.
The relief fund, created in October, accepts donations from domestic and international donors, which can be deposited at all branches of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), National Bank of Pakistan, and other scheduled banks. International donations can also be made through Pakistan’s missions abroad.
In addition to financial aid, Pakistan will be sending 3,000 tents and 12,000 fireproof blankets to Gaza and Lebanon as part of its ongoing relief efforts. PM Shehbaz further emphasized the need for global intervention, stating, “Global powers must immediately stop Israel from committing genocide against these people.”
On Thursday, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) dispatched a 100-tonne shipment of humanitarian aid to Gaza and Lebanon, marking Pakistan’s continued support with essential items like medicine, food, bedding, and clothing. This was the 10th aid shipment to Palestine and the second to Lebanon.
