The perpetrators of the May 9 tragedy have blamed the anti-army speeches of Imran Khan and other PTI leaders for inciting the violence. In their confessions, they admitted that these speeches played a key role in their actions.
The military court has sentenced 25 individuals involved in the May 9 attacks. According to the spokesperson of the Pakistan Army, the Field General Court Martial sentenced these individuals after reviewing all the evidence and completing the legal procedures.
One of the accused, PTI miscreant Jan Muhammad Khan, was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for his role in the Jinnah House attack. Khan confessed that he participated in the attack. He also admitted that he filmed a video wearing a military uniform shirt and then burned it.
Similarly, PTI extremist Shan Ali received a 10-year sentence for his involvement in the same attack. Ali confessed that his views were shaped by Imran Khan’s anti-army rhetoric. He stated that when Khan was arrested, he attacked and vandalized Jinnah House under the influence of political leaders.
Babar Jamal Khan, another PTI member, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attacking the MM Alam Base in Mianwali. He confessed to his involvement and accepted responsibility for the attack.
Dawood Khan, also from PTI, was sentenced to 10 years for attacking Jinnah House. He said he acted at the instigation of Yasmin Rashid and Hassan Niazi. He admitted that the speeches of these leaders fueled his hatred toward the army, and he took part in the attack.
Muhammad Hasher, another PTI miscreant, received a 6-year sentence for the Jinnah House attack. Hasher confessed that the attack was planned in Sarzameen Park, led by Yasmin Rashid. He said he made videos while inciting people under the banner of revolution.
Fahim Haider was sentenced to 6 years of rigorous imprisonment. He, too, confessed that the PTI leadership influenced him to participate in the Jinnah House attack.
Muhammad Ashiq Khan was sentenced to 4 years in prison. He admitted to attacking Jinnah House, stealing items, and making a video. He also revealed that he and others were trained for the attack at Zaman Park.
Finally, Muhammad Bilawal was sentenced to 2 years in prison. He confessed that, under the influence of PTI leaders, he took part in the attack on Jinnah House, vandalizing it and participating in the destruction.
