Russian President Vladimir Putin has told Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that Russia will do everything it can to help secure peace in the Middle East, according to AFP citing Russian media reports.
During the meeting, Putin stated that Moscow would act in a way that serves the interests of Iran and the broader region, emphasizing the need for an early resolution to ongoing tensions. He stressed that Russia remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at achieving stability as soon as possible.
The Russian president also praised what he described as the “courage and determination” of the Iranian people in defending their independence and sovereignty, according to reporting by the TASS news agency.
Reaffirming long-term strategic ties, Putin added that Russia intends to continue strengthening its partnership with Iran, underscoring the durability of bilateral relations even amid heightened regional tensions.
The meeting highlights ongoing diplomatic coordination between Moscow and Tehran at a time of increased geopolitical uncertainty across the Middle East.
