Security forces in Quetta foiled a major suicide att@ck linked to “Fitna al-Hindustan”

QUETTA: Security forces in Quetta successfully foiled a suicide att@ck on Tuesday, killing five operatives reportedly linked to the Indian proxy network known as “Fitna al-Hindustan.” The confrontation unfolded near Jinnah Road, one of the city’s busiest areas, and was marked by a powerful blast that left two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel injured.

    The Incident at Jinnah Road

According to initial reports, the incident began when a suicide bomber detonated explosives near Jinnah Road. Eyewitnesses confirmed that thick smoke rose from the site shortly after the detonation, while several vehicles, motorcycles, and rickshaws sustained heavy damage.

CCTV footage showed the scale of destruction as rescue teams and law enforcement rushed to the site. Authorities immediately cordoned off the area and launched a clearance operation to ensure public safety.

    Militants Disguised as Security Personnel

Secu-rity sources confirmed that the attackers were disguised in Frontier Corps uniforms, an attempt to infiltrate and cause greater damage. However, the quick response of FC personnel neutralized the threat before further escalation.

During the exchange, five militants — including the suicide bomber — were killed. The foiled att@ck prevented what authorities described as a potentially “major tragedy” in the provincial capital.

    Injuries and Medical Response

Two FC personnel were injured during the incident. Following the blast, hospitals across Quetta were placed under emergency to accommodate any possible influx of victims. Ambulances, medical staff, and rescue units remained on high alert throughout the day.

The swift emergency response ensured that those injured received immediate treatment. Authorities commended rescue teams for their timely efforts in preventing further loss of life.

Recent Wave of Violence in Quetta

Tuesday’s incident follows a similar blast earlier this month in Quetta’s Sariab area, which occurred near a vehicle belonging to former Balochistan Chief Minister Akhtar Mengal. While Mengal escaped unharmed, several activists of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) sustained injuries in that explosion.

According to police, the Sariab blast took place in the parking area of Shahwani Stadium after a BNP political gathering. The repeated pattern of violence has raised concerns over the growing risks posed by militant networks operating in Balochistan.

    Vigilance and Heightened Secu-rity

Authorities have since increased vigilance across Quetta and other sensitive areas of Balochistan. Additional checkpoints, patrols, and monitoring have been introduced to detect and prevent future att@cks.

While the foiled suicide blast demonstrated the capability of secu-rity forces to respond effectively, the presence of militants disguised as personnel has highlighted the evolving tactics of such groups. Officials stress that heightened readiness is crucial to counter these threats.

    Conclusion

The successful neutralization of militants in Quetta reflects both the risks and resilience faced by the region. The foiled suicide att@ck not only prevented further casualties but also underscored the need for continued vigilance in Balochistan.

As investigations continue into the network behind the assailants, authorities remain committed to ensuring stability and secu-rity for the citizens of Quetta.
