    Three Policemen Martyred During Duty in Lakki Marwat

    LAKKI MARWAT: Three on-duty traffic policemen were martyred after unidentified motorcycle-riding ass@ilants opened fire in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred on Saturday and caused widespread concern in the area.

    The attack took place near Bannu–Dera Road, close to Sarai Naurang, while the officers were performing routine traffic duties.


    Attack Occurred Near Pardal Begokhel

    According to police officials, the officers were stationed near Pardal Begokhel when the attackers suddenly opened fire. As a result, all three policemen lost their lives on the spot.

    District Police Officer (DPO) Nazir Khan confirmed the incident and stated that the ass@ilants managed to flee immediately after the firing.


    Martyred Officers Identified

    Police identified the martyred officials as:

    • Jalala Khan, Traffic Police In-Charge

    • Constable Azizullah

    • Constable Abdullah

    Following the incident, authorities shifted the bodies to Naurang Hospital for legal formalities. Meanwhile, senior police officers and local residents paid tribute to the fallen personnel.


    Search Operation Launched After Incident

    Soon after the attack, police deployed a large force in the area. They established checkpoints and began a search operation to locate the attackers.

    Additionally, law enforcement agencies increased patrolling across nearby localities. Officials stated that investigations are progressing and no option is being ruled out.


    Previous Incidents Highlight Secu-rity Challenges

    Notably, Lakki Marwat has witnessed similar incidents in recent months. Last month, an exchange of fire took place in the Takhti Khail area, within the jurisdiction of Saraye Norang Police Station.

    During that operation, secu-rity forces neutralized six terr0rists following an ass@ck.


    Casualties Reported in Earlier Incident

    According to Ishaq Khan, Medical Superintendent of Bannu Hospital, one person lost their life in the earlier incident. In addition, 19 people sustained injuries, including police personnel, children, and a woman.

    Medical teams provided immediate treatment to the injured, while authorities launched clearance operations.


    Police Operations Continue

    Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sajjad Khan confirmed that police forces from Bannu and Lakki Marwat continue joint operations. He emphasized that authorities remain committed to restoring peace in the region.
