ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson of Pakistan, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, reiterated Pakistan’s strong stance against engaging in negotiations with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

During a weekly press briefing, she emphasized the government’s unwillingness to interact with individuals who are responsible for the killing of civilians.

Baloch addressed questions related to talks between the Pakistani government and the banned militant organization, emphasizing that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto had already made it clear that Pakistan would not engage in negotiations with those involved in the killing of Pakistani civilians and law enforcement officials.

The statement from Pakistan comes in response to recent comments made by the Afghan Taliban government, stating that they are ready to mediate talks between Pakistan and the TTP if requested by Islamabad.

Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Afghan Taliban, was quoted by an Afghan media outlet, expressing their willingness to facilitate mediation if Pakistan considers it beneficial and as a means to prevent regional conflict.
