DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Visits Punjab University, Highlights Role of Youth Against Disinformation

Lahore, September 2025 — Director General ISPR, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, visited Punjab University Lahore where he engaged with students and faculty in a detailed session on national defense, disinformation, and propaganda.

    Students’ Appreciation

Students and teachers expressed deep appreciation for the Pakistan Army’s role, particularly in defeating India in past confrontations. They stressed that the academic community stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces for the defense of the country. The participants highlighted that such interactions foster unity and resolve among the youth.

    Addressing Propaganda

Participants also noted that negative propaganda had created confusion and suspicion in society. The DG ISPR’s direct engagement helped dispel these doubts, restoring clarity and trust. The discussion shed light on how misinformation campaigns are designed to weaken national morale.

    Importance of Awareness

The session further raised awareness about the dangers of disinformation and fake news, equipping students to better identify and counter false narratives. Attendees emphasized that such educational initiatives are crucial for empowering the younger generation. The visit was widely praised as a step toward strengthening trust and bridging gaps between the armed forces and youth.
