Seven Indian-Sponsored Terrorists Killed in Khuzdar IBO

KHUZDAR: Security forces carried out a major intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Zehri area of Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, eliminating seven terrorists allegedly linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Hindustan. Security sources confirmed on Tuesday that ten more militants were injured during the action.

    Weapons and Explosives Seized

According to sources, the operation was conducted following reports of terrorist presence in the mountainous region. During the exchange of fire, seven terrorists were neutralized. Security forces recovered improvised explosive devices (IEDs), transmitters, US-made automatic weapons, grenades, ammunition, and motorcycles from the site.

In addition, troops neutralized a large IED planted at Badukash bridge, preventing what officials said could have been a “catastrophic attack” on civilians and security personnel.

Joint Operation with Air and Ground Units

The IBO involved a coordinated effort between ground troops and helicopter support, ensuring the terrorists were contained and their escape routes blocked. Officials said such operations highlight the commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to eliminate threats posed by hostile networks allegedly backed from abroad.

    Recent Pattern of Operations

The Khuzdar operation comes just days after four militants of the same group were killed in another encounter in the district on September 18. The government in May officially designated all militant outfits operating in Balochistan under the umbrella of Fitna al Hindustan.

Security experts note that Khuzdar, due to its rugged terrain and strategic location, has become a recurring hotspot for militant activity, requiring frequent targeted operations.

    Rising Cross-Border Militancy

Pakistan has witnessed a surge in cross-border terror incidents since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in 2021. Provinces bordering Afghanistan, particularly Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have borne the brunt of these attacks.

According to a recent report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), August saw a 74% surge in militant attacks compared to July. The think tank recorded at least 194 fatalities nationwide during that month alone.

    Earlier Blast in Quetta

The Khuzdar operation came on the same day as a deadly blast near the Frontier Corps headquarters on Quetta’s Zarghoon Road. At least 10 people, including two FC personnel, were martyred while more than 20 were injured. Security officials later confirmed the attack was a suicide bombing carried out by Indian-backed militants disguised as FC personnel.

    Conclusion

The back-to-back terror incidents underscore Pakistan’s ongoing battle against foreign-backed militancy. The elimination of seven terrorists in Khuzdar marks another significant step in neutralizing these threats, but officials caution that continued vigilance and proactive operations are essential to safeguard peace and stability in Balochistan.
