Pakistan Navy Inducts Advanced Hovercraft During Naval Chief’s Visit to Creeks Area

Creeks Area, Pakistan — Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited forward posts in the Creeks Area to review operational preparedness and combat readiness of deployed forces. During the visit, the Pakistan Navy inducted three state-of-the-art 2400 TD Hovercraft into the Pakistan Marines, marking another milestone in the modernization of the Navy’s amphibious capabilities.

Enhanced Operational Reach and Tactical Flexibility

The newly inducted hovercraft can operate seamlessly across multiple terrains — including shallow waters, sand dunes, marshy zones, and boggy littoral areas — where traditional naval craft cannot function effectively. This unique capability allows simultaneous operations over land and sea, providing the Pak Marines with a distinct tactical edge in complex environments.

According to the Navy, this induction strengthens Pakistan’s ability to deliver swift and decisive responses against potential threats in its coastal and maritime domains.

    Admiral Naveed Ashraf’s Remarks

While addressing officers and sailors, Admiral Naveed Ashraf highlighted that the addition of these advanced platforms reflects the Pakistan Navy’s vision to modernize and enhance maritime defence. He emphasized the strategic importance of Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs), calling them a cornerstone of national sovereignty and a vital element of economic stability.

“Maritime security is not just a military necessity; it underpins Pakistan’s prosperity and global connectivity,” the Naval Chief said. “We know how to defend our sovereignty and every inch of our maritime frontiers from Sir Creek to Jiwani.”

Commitment to Regional Peace and National Defence

The Naval Chief reaffirmed that Pakistan Navy remains the vanguard of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region, playing a critical role in regional maritime security. He reiterated that the Navy’s defence capabilities remain as robust as the morale of its personnel, ensuring protection of the nation’s coastal belt and maritime frontiers.

The visit and induction ceremony underline Pakistan Navy’s continuous commitment to technological advancement, tactical excellence, and the defence of national waters.
