    Pakistan, Tajikistan Vow to Strengthen Defence Cooperation During High-Level Meeting at GHQ

    COAS Meets Tajik Defence Minister to Discuss Regional Secu-rity and Military Collaboration

    Colonel General Sobirzoda Emomali Abdulrahim, Minister of Defence of Tajikistan, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The meeting underscored the growing partnership between Pakistan and Tajikistan, particularly in defence cooperation and regional secu-rity.

    Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional stability, ongoing secu-rity challenges, and bilateral military collaboration. The leadership expressed a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation in key domains such as professional training, counter-terr0r operations, and coordinated regional secu-rity efforts. The discussion reflected the strategic importance of Central and South Asian cooperation in maintaining long-term stability.

    Tajik Leader Praises Pakistan Army’s Professionalism

    During the meeting, the Tajik defence minister appreciated the professionalism and operational standards of the Pakistan Army. He acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent contributions to regional peace, stability, and capacity-building efforts in neighbouring states. His remarks highlighted the deep respect and confidence Tajikistan places in Pakistan’s defence institutions.

    Both parties expressed satisfaction over the existing military-to-military engagement and agreed that stronger collaboration would contribute to regional resilience. Training exchanges, joint exercises, and counter-terr0r initiatives were identified as priority areas for future expansion.

    Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Strong Regional Partnerships

    COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the importance of collective regional efforts to uphold peace and stability. He stated that Pakistan is committed to building robust defence and secu-rity ties with Tajikistan, ensuring both nations remain prepared to address shared regional challenges. The COAS also highlighted the value of long-term cooperation between the armed forces of both countries.

    The meeting concluded with a mutual resolve to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance coordination across various military domains. The renewed focus on cooperation reflects the shared vision of Pakistan and Tajikistan for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous region.
