Security Forces Eliminate 15 India-Backed Militants in Major KP Operations
Pakistan’s secu-rity forces have successfully neutralised at least 15 India-backed militants in two major intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the back-to-back operations were carried out between November 8 and 9 as part of the broader national counter-terr0r campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam.”
Coordinated IBOs Lead to Elimination of Key Ringleader
In the first operation, launched in the general area of Kulachi, DI Khan, secu-rity forces acted on confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of Khawarij elements linked to the Indian proxy network, Fitna al-Khawarij. The operation resulted in the elimination of ten militants, including the group’s ringleader, Alam Mehsud.
ISPR stated that the presence of this network posed an imminent threat to the region, and its neutralisation marks a significant blow to foreign-backed destabilisation efforts.
A second IBO was conducted in North Waziristan’s Datta Khel area, where five additional militants were taken out. The successful neutralisation across two districts, executed within a short timeframe, reflects the enhanced coordination between secu-rity forces and intelligence agencies.
Sanitisation Underway Under ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’
Following the operations, sanitisation activities continue in surrounding areas to identify and eliminate any remaining militants. ISPR reaffirmed that the nationwide counter-terr0r campaign will maintain full momentum to root out foreign-sponsored networks and reinforce long-term stability.
Officials noted that the operations align with directives approved by the federal apex committee on the National Action Plan, reinforcing an uncompromising stance against any form of external interference or proxy violence.
Suicide Att@ck in Bannu Leaves Att@cker Dead
In a separate incident, a suicide att@ck occurred near the Basia Khel police station in Bannu on Tuesday. According to authorities, a motorcyclist detonated himself near the Do Ghora Bridge. Thankfully, no additional casualties were reported. A heavy contingent of police immediately cordoned off the area, initiating a full investigation into the explosion.
The incident follows a recent suicide blast at Islamabad’s Judicial Complex, which resulted in multiple casualties and injuries. Law enforcement agencies have since intensified operational readiness, leading to the arrest of four members of a TTP/Fitna al-Khawarij cell connected to the Islamabad att@ck.
Intensified Counter-Terr0r Measures Across Pakistan
The latest developments underscore Pakistan’s sustained efforts to counter foreign-backed terr0r outfits and maintain regional stability. With multiple high-risk districts experiencing increased militant activity, the accelerated response of secu-rity agencies reflects both preparedness and commitment.
Authorities emphasise that the ongoing operations are part of a larger, long-term framework aimed at eliminating terr0r networks that exploit cross-border support and destabilising agendas. As the country continues to pursue “Azm-e-Istehkam,” citizens are expected to witness further intelligence-led actions designed to secure vulnerable regions and safeguard national interests.
