Army Officer Martyred, Five Indian-Sponsored Fitna al Khawarij Neutralised in Bajaur IBO
A Pakistan Army officer was martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Khar area of Bajaur district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was conducted on December 29, 2025, following reports of the presence of Fitna al Khawarij linked to an Indian proxy network.
Operation Details
During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the militants’ location. As a result, five Indian-sponsored khawarij were neutralised after an intense exchange of fire.
However, during the engagement, Major Adeel Zaman, aged 36, embraced shahadat. The officer, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan, was leading his troops from the front and fought gallantly, the ISPR stated.
Recovery and Sanitisation
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the neutralised khawarij. According to the ISPR, they were involved in multiple acts of viol@nce against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians.
Meanwhile, sanitisation operations are ongoing in the area. The aim is to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored elements.
Continued Counter-Milit@ncy Drive
The ISPR reaffirmed that the counter-milit@ncy campaign under “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue at full pace. The campaign operates under the framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies, therefore, remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored and supported milit@ncy from the country.
Earlier Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Earlier, security forces conducted multiple intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the neutralisation of nine Indian-sponsored Fitna al Khawarij.
In Dera Ismail Khan, four militants were neutralised during an IBO. Similarly, in Bannu district, five more were neutralised during a separate operation.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from those operations. The ISPR said the militants were involved in targeted attacks and other viol@nt activities.
