In a significant achievement, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Balochistan, alongside the Frontier Corps (FC) and local police, thwarted a major terrorist plan in the Rahsham area of Musakhel district.
This operation, launched on the basis of intelligence agency insights, aimed to disrupt the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA)’s plans to attack key installations in the region.
The operation unfolded under the cover of night as law enforcement agencies strategically surrounded the terrorists.
A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued, during which three militants were killed and two others were apprehended alive.
However, 5-7 terrorists managed to flee, using the darkness to their advantage. The authorities have since launched a pursuit to capture these fugitives.
A cache of arms and ammunition was seized from the deceased terrorists, marking a substantial blow to their operational capabilities.
The detained individuals are now in custody, where they face intense interrogation.
CTD has also registered a case to formalize the proceedings against the involved individuals, ensuring further investigation into the extent of the planned attack and any additional threats to the region.
This joint effort by CTD, FC, and police has been hailed as a major success, averting what could have been a significant disaster in Balochistan, thanks to the proactive intervention of intelligence agencies and coordinated action from law enforcement.
