MIRANSHAH: In a tragic and deeply condemnable act of terrorism, respected tribal elder Malik Muhammad Rehman Dawar and his loyal driver were martyred in cold blood as they traveled to participate in a crucial peace Jirga in Razmak. The cowardly and calculated attack occurred near Dawood Pump on the Miranshah-Bannu Road, casting a pall of grief and anger across the region.

Authorities have confirmed that this was not a random incident but a meticulously planned targeted ambush designed to sabotage fragile local peace efforts and sow discord among tribal communities. Dawar, a prominent and widely respected figure known for his unrelenting commitment to dialogue, reconciliation, and unity, had survived a previous assassination attempt but remained undeterred in his mission to bring warring factions to the negotiating table.

His assassination is being viewed as an attack not only on an individual but on the very spirit of peace and stability in North Waziristan. Locals have expressed shock and outrage over the killing, describing Dawar as a voice of reason who fearlessly challenged the forces of violence and division despite repeated threats to his life.

Security forces have launched an extensive operation in the area, vowing to track down and eliminate the perpetrators of this heinous crime. Officials say the incident highlights the continuing threat posed by the remnants of terror networks determined to derail peace-building initiatives and destabilize the region. Intelligence agencies are actively pursuing leads, and authorities have assured the public that no effort will be spared in bringing the attackers to justice.

The state remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating the menace of terrorism in all its forms and honoring the ultimate sacrifices made by citizens who dared to dream of a peaceful, prosperous future. Malik Muhammad Rehman Dawar’s legacy of courage, dialogue, and community service will endure as an inspiration to all those who believe in the power of words over weapons and peace over violence.
