Gaza: In an overnight bombardment by Israeli forces, 47 Palestinians were killed, and dozens more were injured, with a significant number being women and children, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA. The attacks targeted areas in Deir Al-Balah, the Nuseirat camp, and Al-Zawayda town.

The Israeli military reported that their operations successfully identified and eliminated “several armed terrorists” in central Gaza, claiming to have targeted “dozens of terrorists” in raids in the Jabalia area of northern Gaza.

The ongoing conflict, which escalated after Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, has resulted in the deaths of over 43,000 Palestinians, as reported by Palestinian authorities. The war began with the deaths of around 1,200 people in Israel and the abduction of 251 hostages by Hamas.

On Thursday alone, at least 46 Palestinians were killed in strikes across the Gaza Strip, particularly in the north, where an attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital caused significant disruption to medical operations and destroyed supplies. Israel’s military has accused Hamas of using the hospital for military purposes, a claim that health officials and Hamas have denied.

The health ministry in Gaza called on international organizations to protect hospitals and medical staff from the ongoing violence. Medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) also reported the detention of one of its doctors by Israeli forces and stressed the urgent need for protection for medical personnel amidst the conflict.
