PTI and JUI Oppose Operation Azm e Istehkam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation. On Sunday, both parties declared that military operations in the restive areas are not the solution to militancy. Instead, they urged political parties to play their role in restoring peace. The agreement came during a meeting between JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and former National Assembly (NA) speaker and PTI leader Asad Qaiser in Islamabad. PTI and JUI-F agreed on the need for a strong opposition presence in the NA to address these issues.
To further their collaboration, PTI and JUI-F decided to form a political committee. This committee aims to clear misunderstandings and devise future strategies. PTI and JUI Oppose Operation Azm e Istehkam because they believe in political dialogue over military intervention.
Both leaders criticized the recent national budget, calling it an IMF-Budget. They claimed it was anti-people and lacked measures to provide relief to the masses. The overall political situation in the country was also discussed.
Fazl and Asad stressed the importance of establishing cordial relations with Afghanistan. They described Afghans as brothers to Pakistanis and expressed a desire for exemplary ties between the two countries.
The parties also called for the creation of economic corridors at border crossings. They believed this would boost economic activity, create job opportunities, and bring prosperity to the region.
Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai, PTI’s Central Deputy Secretary Information, was present at the meeting. This dialogue underscored the critical need for political solutions to address the challenges in KP and to improve Pakistan-Afghanistan relations. PTI and JUI both advocate for political engagement and economic collaboration.
