In a horrifying incident of targeted violence, seven Punjabai laborers fell victim to a brutal attack in Gawadar. The assailants, yet to be identified, mercilessly targeted the workers as they slept in their residential quarters near the Gwadar Fish Harbour. The deceased, all employed in a local barber shop, were residents of district Khanewal in Punjab.

Gawadar Police Station’s SHO, Mohsin Ali, revealed that the gunmen launched a sudden assault on the sleeping workers in the Surbandar area, leaving seven dead and one injured. The injured individual has been rushed to Gwadar Hospital for medical treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have also been transferred there.

Expressing his condemnation and heartfelt sympathies, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti assured the families of the victims of his full support. He vowed to employ all necessary measures to bring the perpetrators to justice, emphasizing a relentless pursuit of the terrorists and their collaborators.

Home Minister Mir Zia Ullah Langau labeled the incident as “open terrorism” and ordered a thorough investigation into the barbaric killings. He stressed the government’s firm stance against such cowardly acts, promising stringent action against the culprits.

This Target Killing of Punjabi Laborers in Gawadar comes on the heels of recent terror incidents in the Nushki district, where eleven individuals, including laborers from Punjab, were ruthlessly gunned down by unidentified assailants. These incidents underscore the ongoing threat of terrorism plaguing the region.

In a separate incident on March 20, security forces thwarted a violent attack on the Gwadar Port Authority colony. Gunmen stormed the complex, leading to multiple explosions and gunfire, threatening the safety of government offices housed within.

The Target Killing of Punjabi Laborers in Gawadar sends shockwaves through the community, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures and concerted efforts to combat terrorism in Balochistan.
