ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has made it clear that those responsible for violating the law during the November 24 sit-in and causing damage to government property will face punishment.

Addressing a task force meeting aimed at investigating the riots, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of accountability, stating that progress on legal actions against those who spread chaos will be reviewed weekly.

PM Sharif strongly condemned the violence in the federal capital during the visit of the President of Belarus, calling the incident a national embarrassment. He highlighted the need for a world-class anti-riot force tailored to modern challenges to prevent such incidents in the future.

In a bid to strengthen security, PM Sharif also announced the establishment of a forensic lab of international standards, which will be integrated into the Islamabad Safe City project. The goal is to bring the lab to a global level of efficiency, utilizing all necessary resources.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed that weapons, cartridge shells, and other crucial evidence had been collected from the scene of the violence. All the evidence will be sent for forensic analysis to ensure thorough investigation and accountability.
