The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has built its political strategy around deception and misinformation, turning politics into a tool for confusion and control. Their latest attempt, a propaganda-filled documentary, highlights the lengths they are willing to go to mislead both the people of Pakistan and the international community.
The documentary opens with a glaring lie, claiming the “Final Call” protest was against the 26th Constitutional Amendment. However, PTI not only supported this amendment but actively participated in related committee meetings and ceremonies. This blatant contradiction undermines their credibility and reveals a deliberate effort to distort facts.
PTI’s protest was far from peaceful. The real agenda was to create chaos, seize key government buildings in Islamabad, and forcibly secure the release of Imran Khan from prison. Many supporters were armed, and thousands were reportedly positioned around Islamabad, ready to incite trouble. This was not a legitimate protest but a calculated attempt to destabilize the government.
Adding to the controversy, PTI included foreign nationals, such as over 1,500 Afghans, in their plans. These armed individuals crossed checkpoints unchallenged due to restrictions on the use of force by security agencies. Along their route, they attacked officers, spread fear, and even caused the tragic deaths of four Rangers personnel by running them over. These actions demonstrated a reckless disregard for national security in pursuit of political objectives.
When their plans failed, PTI resorted to a disinformation campaign to gain sympathy. They fabricated stories of state violence and exaggerated claims of hundreds of deaths among their supporters. These allegations quickly unraveled, as many of the supposed victims were found alive. Even reputable outlets like the BBC were misled into reporting these falsehoods, damaging PTI’s credibility and Pakistan’s global image.
PTI’s leaders once again displayed a pattern of abandoning their supporters in times of crisis. When their plans backfired, key figures fled, leaving their workers to face the consequences alone. This recurring behavior highlights the exploitative nature of PTI’s leadership, which uses its loyal base as pawns while avoiding accountability themselves.
The PTI playbook is not about serving the nation or upholding democratic values. It is focused solely on power, achieved through lies, manipulation, and chaos. The so-called martyrs PTI often references are victims of their leaders’ self-serving strategies. This approach has not only eroded trust in PTI but also deepened public disillusionment with Pakistan’s political system.
PTI’s actions reveal a party willing to risk national stability and manipulate its own supporters to achieve its goals, leaving a trail of mistrust and division in its wake.
