TANK: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police on Sunday said that they had successfully repulsed overnight terrorist attack on a police station in Tank district without the loss of any lives. According to police, a group of terrorists attacked the Gomal Police Station in Tank and gunfire was exchanged for almost 15 minutes. However, the police repulsed the attack and the terrorists were eventually forced to withdraw. The police later conducted a search operation in the area as well. NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Unidentified gunmen attacked the house of an assistant sub inspector in Dandi Seedgi area of Ghulam Khan border tehsil of North Waziristan, injuring women and men in the house. According to police, terrorists attacked Amin Ullah, assistant sub inspector, house with small arms and heavy weapons. Vehicle dispatched to take the injured to the hospital was also targeted by an explosion, causing additional injuries. NORTH WAZIRISTAN: At least three security personnel were martyred and 22 others including workers of a petroleum company were injured in the suicide blast in North Waziristan on Saturday. Sources say that suicide bomber in a rickshaw targeted two vehicles carrying the personnel of a petroleum company in North Waziristan. Three people were killed and 22 others injured in the blast as result. Among the injured, 15 were the workers of a petroleum company and seven were FC personnel. The condition of many of the injured is said to be critical.
RAWALPINDI : Two officers of the Pakistan Army, who were martyred in a blast in Kohlu area of Balochistan, were laid to rest with full military honour in their hometowns. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a statement, said the funeral prayers of Maj Muhammad Jawad and Capt Sagheer Abbas were offered at Rawalpindi and Kot Addu, respectively.
